DIRECTOR'S NOTE
We reinterpret modern cities that have grown disproportionately, where time periods overlap, imagining this city centuries into the future. Within this aesthetic and this possible future, we address the increasingly prevalent so-called gig works. Our character is a young man in precarious employment, working on an app where those who work more are better positioned in the rankings. He is inspired by the lives of millions of people and the exhausting processes of rivalry. The surrounding landscape is dominated by urban chaos and is amplified by the logic of digital information overload and urban hyperconstruction—a megacity where the view of the sky is obstructed by a multitude of overlapping buildings. This fiction presents an exaggerated version of contemporary reality.
